Mission Training Center Updates

In August 2024, a tree fell on the Mission Training Center during Hurricane Debby.

February 2026 Update

As of February 3, 2026 we are waiting on permits. We should have the construction permit from the City of Tallahassee within the next 10 days.

Seven trees on the property must be removed to complete the renovation and ensure safety. We have received permits from the City to remove four of the trees, but the other three fall within the Centerville canopy zone. A special permit from the Canopy Roads Committee is required for their removal. We are currently waiting for the next committee meeting to obtain the permit. Replanting trees on the property and along the canopy is already part of the project to preserve the unique beauty of Centerville Road.

We plan to begin construction around March 10. If we are still waiting for the permit from the Canopy Roads Committee, we will work around those trees for now. Construction should take 5-6 months, and our goal is to open the space at the beginning of August!

January 2026 Update

Thank you to everyone who attended our Special Business Meeting on January 14. The church family voted almost unanimously (only one "No" vote, all others in favor) to pursue the funding needed to complete the proposed renovations of the Mission Training Center.
